Lorna Stewart works and lives in New Westminster. She is the owner of Essence Hair Design and Home Décor, located at 118 - 960 Quayside Drive on the Quay in New Westminster, and is committed to her unshakable belief of “giving back to the community.”

Lorna has been successfully styling hair in the Royal City for over 30 years and intends to maintain her salon and creativity for many more years. A Rotarian for over 15 years and honoured with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award, she has championed many charities, raising an astounding $100,000 plus!

She embarked on a more personal quest, that of finding a “live” kidney for a friend. Most would view this as a daunting unachievable challenge; Lorna took it all in her stride because she believe NOTHING is impossible. She organized a fundraiser and rallied the community. She arranged for the local newspapers to print the story, she educated herself about kidney failure and organ donation, she talked to anyone who would listen; all this while running the salon and styling hair! Lorna raised over $33,000 for the Kidney Foundation of Canada AND found a local business women who was more than willing to donate the ultimate gift – a “live” kidney.
Lorna is pursuing an interior decorating career also. Naturally talented in this area, Lorna feels this would be an additional service to offer her clientele who regularly seek her advice on this subject.
